| ********* REGIONAL QUARTER-FINAL PLAYOFFS ******* Game 3: The Tigers lose to Alamo Heights 8-4 to end their season. The details of the game are almost irrelevant at this point. The Statesman will have an article tomorrow (today actually) and I'll post the box score sometime soon if you want that info. We lost sooner than expected, but it was not for lack of effort by the players or coaches. Whether something was a hit or an error, the decisions made by players and coaches, and umpires decisions can all be part of future conversation. In the present there is a fine group of men with broken hearts. Baseball is nothing if its not a heartbreaker. And no other sport puts your failures so out in the open and makes you fail so often. They all loved coaching and playing for their school, and now that is done. Underclassman, I hope you all learned something this year and will work to taste success again. Seniors, thanks for a great ride and good luck in all you do. Game 2: The Tigers lose to Alamo Heights 11-3. Defense doesn't give Travis much help. Alamo Heights also help themselves with 12 hits. Dripping Springs manages to get 8 hits, but they are scattered around and only amount to 3 runs. Time to regroup and play game 3. Game 1: The Tigers take Game 1 of the three game series vs. Alamo Heights 11-2. The Mules score one run in the 1st and one run in the seventh. In-between it was all Tigers. Dripping Springs scores in every inning but the first for their 11 runs. Every starter gets a least one hit, Jake and Alex get three hits apiece. Daryl, Jake, Stephen S, Cory P, and Alex hit doubles and Jon adds a triple. Jace keeps them guesing through 6 strong innings with 7 Ks and 1 walk. The Tiger defense does its part with three double plays. Jace, Logan, and Alex combine for a strike em out - throw em out DP in the 3rd inning. Cory P and Ryan combine for a 6-3 DP in the fourth. Alex, Ryan, Stephen S and Logan work a 4-3, 3-5-2 DP in the 6th. Cory closes in the 7th giving up one unearned run. Click here for movie of the failed squeeze play by SA Burbank. Answer No if you are prompted to view the file using Internet Explorer. It should open in Windows Media or something else if you use a different video viewer. It is a 2 MB file so it should run fine on high speed connections, not sure on dial-up connections. You may want to right click and do a "Save Target as.." to save the file to your computer, and then double-click on the file to play. Let me know if you have trouble or questions on viewing. Failed Squeeze Play vs Burbank ********* AREA PLAYOFFS ******* Game 2: Tigers finally surrender a playoff run, but they make up for it with 17 runs of their own in beating SA Burbank in Game 2 (5 innings).
